Shared Decision Making
Case Study: Shared Decision Making using ChoiceApp (Multiple Myeloma)
In this study the overall goal of ChoiceApp is to be used as a tool to assist in shared decision making between Multiple Myeloma (MM) patients and the treatment team.
ChoiceApp delivers a survey task directly to patients, for them to complete at a time and place most convenient to them. The survey itself is a choice task, which allows us to understand what patients favour in treatment by assessing their preferences indirectly.
These revealed preferences in treatment are summarised in a report instantaneously within ChoiceApp. The overall goal is for this report to be used in the consultation between patient and the treatment team to enhance shared decision making. Understanding the value set of each individual patient, in an easy-to-read format, serves to simplify and clarify their needs for an efficient and effective discussion.
